Life After Death is a series of three still-life paintings created from naturally dried peonies. Through close observation, the series explores how beauty, identity and presence can continue beyond physical life. Rather than depicting decay, the paintings invite viewers to look again at what remains, discovering dignity, character and quiet transformation in flowers that have reached the end of their natural bloom.

The natural world reminds us that endings are rarely as simple as disappearance. In the dried peonies, physical life has ceased, yet form, identity and beauty remain. Life After Death does not seek to explain mortality or offer answers about what lies beyond it. Instead, it invites us to look more carefully at what remains after loss, and to recognise that memory, presence and transformation often continue long after life itself has fallen silent.
