Where colour, composition and atmosphere come together to celebrate the beauty of peonies.

Peonies have become the enduring subject of my practice because they continue to reveal new possibilities with every painting.

Some works explore a single bloom in detail. Others investigate the remarkable diversity of cultivars. This collection takes a different approach, bringing flowers together in compositions that could never exist quite like this in nature, yet feel entirely believable.

The arrangement of each painting grows through observation, imagination and experimentation. Relationships between colours, forms and spaces become just as important as the flowers themselves, allowing each composition to develop its own atmosphere and rhythm.

Rather than recording a particular bouquet or garden, these paintings seek to preserve a feeling: the quiet pleasure of living alongside beautiful flowers, and the sense of calm they bring into everyday life.

Some paintings begin with a single flower. Others begin with a feeling.

The works in this collection explore the expressive possibilities of peonies beyond portraiture or botanical study.
