Process & Materials

Charm was painted with Annie Sloan Chalk Paint on board. The ultra-matt surface of the chalk paint allows the delicate white petals to retain their softness while giving the blue background a rich, velvety depth. Multiple layers of paint were built gradually to create subtle tonal variation and definition throughout the flower and foliage.

Working on board provides a stable painting surface, allowing careful brushwork to define the intricate edges of the petals and the fine detail within the leaves. The result is a contemporary floral painting that combines bold colour with careful observation and craftsmanship.
